Born and raised in Saskatoon, Steve has been fishing in the province for over thirty years. As a teenager Steve began writing for outdoor magazines like the “Western Sportsman”, the “In Fisherman”, and several others and developed a love for sharing knowledge and helping other anglers get the most out of their trips. At age 18, Steve started a career as a musician which took him across the country and back and let him experience fishing along the way. In 2005 after deciding to put down permanent roots in Saskatoon and wanting to return to the angling world Steve along with partners Andrew Smith ( Smitty) and Terry Allington established “Fishing Saskatchewan.ca”.

Andrew Smith (Smitty) was born and raised in the Yorkton area in Southeast Saskatchewan. He cut his teeth fishing one of the prairies’ best walleye fisheries, Lake of the Prairies at a very early age, and quickly grew to be a dedicated angler. After moving to Saskatoon in the early 90s, Smitty spent his weekends and holidays exploring the parkland and shield areas of Central and Northern Saskatchewan, becoming very familiar with the lakes and terrain of the Hanson Lake Road and surrounding areas. He loves sharing stories and photos of the places he’s been, the things he seen, and of course the great fishing from across the province. Along with the rest of the Fishing Saskatchewan.ca crew, Smitty hopes to catch at least one of every fish the province has to offer and fish as many of our lakes and rivers as his time on earth permits.
